David Lines Bio | Raffle Prizes
Local organist, David Lines, will be our next concert series performer on Sunday, October 12 at 4:00 pm. Noted for his exciting performances and knowledge of unique organ repertoire, David's program will highlight several "fun" works, orchestral transcriptions, as well as Bach.
David Lines
A native of Seattle, David began his career in church music at the age of 17 while a student of Dr. Charles Wassberg. He later went on to study at Brigham Young University where he studied with Parley Belnap and earned a Bachelor of Music degree. David also holds a Master of Music in organ performance from the University of Notre Dame where he studied under Craig Cramer.
David received many awards during his college years, including second place in the Music Teachers National Association in Houston and first place in the Federation of Music Clubs' national competition in Florida. He has also been a finalist in both the Arthur Poister Competition in Syracuse, New York and the American Guild of Organists' Regional Competition in Chicago. An active recitalist, he has performed concerts at the famous Mormon Tabernacle and the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, as well as St. Joseph's parish here on Capitol Hill. David is currently the Organist of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Edmonds and also accompanies occasional masses at St. Luke's parish in Shoreline.
In addition to his playing, David is an experienced organ tuner/voicer
and was involved with the rebuild and re-voicing of Seattle's Plymouth Congregational Church organ after it was nearly destroyed in the Ash Wednesday earthquake of 2001.
