Following Jesus, we begin the journey of Lent with Ash Wednesday, a ritual of reflection.
Join us at All Pilgrims for our Ash Wednesday service, February 13 at 6:30 pm. We will also offer you the opportunity to symbolically begin the Lenten journey through Labyrinth walks, beginning that evening and at select times until Sunday, February 17.
The Labyrinth will be open:
Wednesday Feb 13 6:00 to 6:30 PM, and following the service 7:30 to 8:30 PM (Stuart Hall)
Thursday Feb. 14 – Noon to 4 PM (Sanctuary)
Friday Feb. 15 – Noon to 6 PM (Sanctuary)
Saturday, Feb. 16 – 11 AM to 4 PM (Sanctuary)
Sunday, Feb. 17 – 9:45 to 10:30 AM, and following service 12:30 to 1 PM (Stuart Hall)
A Labyrinth looks like a maze, but is not a maze. A maze is a confusing experience of deception and confusion, involving choice points and unproductive paths. A Labyrinth, however, has one path that ultimately takes one to the center and back out again. The only choice involved is to walk or not. The path twists and turns, sometimes going tantalizingly close to the center only to lead far away again. Those who walk it reenact the spiritual life in which we approach the heart of God, rest in God’s presence, and return to the world again.
Volunteers will be present to help you get started.
