History: Clean Sweep is a Capitol Hill tradition. For the past decade the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce has gathered neighborhood residents, business owners and their friends to do some Spring cleaning on the commercial streets of our neighborhood. What started as a modest effort with a handful of stalwart volunteers cleaning up Broadway has grown to a volunteer crowd of over 400, with over 23 blocks of the neighborhood covered.
Clean Sweep is a community, family friendly event that aims to not only clean up our neighborhood but to build connections between neighbors, provide volunteer opportunities for our members and create a sense of ownership for all of us in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. A well-loved neighborhood is well taken care of by the people who live, work and play there. And we all love Capitol Hill!
