Faith in Action: Referendum 74

Did you know that in July our Coordinating Council voted to endorse Ref. 74?  Don’t you want to help preserve marriage equality?  Washington United for Marriage, the lead organization for the Approve Ref. 74 campaign, tells us that even a single, respectful conversation with someone who shares why they support marriage equality makes it 70% more likely that voters will vote yes.

So, how about we get together and spend a few hours phone-banking for the cause?  We’ll do it on Capitol Hill, they will train us and may even feed us! (Of course, pizza is the standard campaign volunteer food…).  Here are a few dates—we can choose one or have a team at each one.  Which evenings could you volunteer?

  •  Monday, September 17, 5:30 pm
  •  Wednesday, September 19, 5:30 pm
  •  Sunday, September 23, 5:30 pm

If enough folks are interested, we’ll add more opportunities as election day approaches.  Let us know by emailing Mission&, or sign-up after church at the information table in Stuart Hall.  Of course, you can also volunteer almost any evening on your own.
