Writing for Church Newsletters and Blogs: A Workshop

Writing Worshop June 16 2012

Communication is vital to engaging church members and the wider community in the work of the Gospel. Church newsletters, websites and blogs play an increasingly important role as vehicles for communication.

All Pilgrims Christian Church in Seattle will host a writers workshop — “Good News” — for those who write newsletters and blogs for their churches June 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop, which will feature hands-on writing and editing exercises, will be taught by Pacific Lutheran University journalism educator Cliff Rowe.

Participants will be encouraged to bring their lap-top computers in order to write and edit material during the workshop.  Registrants will also be invited to send in samples of their own work for possible critique during the workshop.

Deadline for registration is June 14th (PLEASE REGISTER BY NOON); space is limited so early registration is encouraged. Cost is $65 per person which includes lunch. A limited number of partial or full scholarships may be made available on the basis of financial need.  Registrations can be made online with a credit card here.
